Random Thoughts of Nothingness Continued

More "Random Thoughts of Nothingness", so I hope you get a giggle or a wiggle out of it, here we go!

  • G, Mikey & I did the "Ride of Silence" last night. There were tornadoes, thunderstorms, hail and I think a Tsunami in the area. We pulled up, and sure enough, the wind stopped, the sky's parted and the sun came out. We did the ride, honoring those who have been killed or injured on their bikes, and went back to the starting place. Not ten minutes after our return, the sky turned black, the wind kicked up, and the storms were all over the area again. Someone was looking out for the 40+ cyclists on the ride last night.
  • Took a little spill last night on the ride. We were going up a hill, really slooooowww, and the guy next to me tapped the wheel in front of him, coming to a dead stop. He then proceeded to fall over on top of me, and we both went down. Little road rash, and some bruising. Now, to a mere mortal, it would have been painful, but since I fell on my left leg, and the nerve damage has not corrected itself, I couldn't feel anything anyway! One of the many advantages of having nerve damage. No nerve, no pain!
  • Been buried under with work, so no riding today. Will try to hit it over the weekend.

Wanna see some hot babes? Here's G & her friend, Pam along with none-other and Pam's husband Mike. We were at a retirement party for one of G & Pam's co-workers at the Farm. Had a wonderful dinner, and a great evening of fun.

I said to myself..............I said "Self" what would you ever want to retire for? I know retirement for me is a way off, I mean age wise, but huh? I have always said that I am going to "retire" by the age of 45, but retirement to me is a little different for most. Retirement for me is doing what I want, when I want, and still having a place to "play" for 6-10 hours per day, and get paid for it. Now That's retirement!

The Future, That's Where I Want to Be!!!!

"I'm very interested in the future, as I plan on spending the rest of my life there"

(author unknown, although it's not me)

For some reason today, it was a good day. Nope, scratch that, it was a GREAT day. I woke up, and just felt good, even the legs felt better for some reason. I actually felt SOOOO good today, that I went out and rode outdoors, the first time in 3 weeks, for 1.5 hours, just taking it all in, clearing my little brain.

While I was riding, I kept thinking about doing some yoga stretches after the ride, in the backyard, among the birds, owls, squirrels and other critters (which I did) That led me to think about the time G&I were on a VBT bike tour in Vermont several years ago. We stayed a couple of nights at the Three Stallion Inn, where the Morgan Horse was "invented". It's a 5-star kind of bread & breakfast.

In the rear of the property, amongst some walking trails, there was a pond, with a bench. So G&I sat down, I took my sandal's off, and put my toes in the water. Low & behold, some trout came up, and "kissed" my toes. It was so peaceful and tranquil. I visited the pond many, many times while we stayed there, just to relax, and enjoy the little trout. After a while, I coined the phrase that I was "one with the trout" as we were friends while I was at the pond, and they forced me to relax, and take in nature.

I did relax, and only after the bike tour was over, did G tell me that the pond, was the "stock pond" for the inns restaurant, and the trout who I had become friends with, were served to some meanie who orders trout for dinner!!!

Oh well, I believe we are still friends, and I also believe that today was one of those days that I was "one with the trout". I hope to continue this trend

Random Thoughts of Silliness

Just a few notes, nothing too mentally over-powering:

  • G is out of town on business for a few days, so I am home alone. She wanted to make sure that I was not too lonely when I went to sleep, so she invited some of The Boyz to take her place on the bed. We can all spoon & snuggle at bed time, and I can read them stories.

Sam & Darby, silly goofs, are kind of lost, now that their Mommy didn't return last night. I overheard Darby tell Sam, "that since Mommy is not coming home, and Daddy is a pushover, we can throw a HUGE party, grill steaks & drink beer!"

Here's Sam, our GOOD dog!

And our Devil Child, Darby.

If you were around during the Nancy Reagan era, you know that you should just say NO to drugs. I have taken her advice, and tried to stay away from the pain-drugs. They were making me more weird than I already am. Rode indoors on Sunday for the first time since Easter weekend. It was OK I guess. Plan on doing some indoor rides this week, and see how it goes, before I venture out on the road.

Yoga last night was good! I actually bought a YOGA mat, and brought it to class. I am going to do some basic yoga at home, to help out with stretching and all, try to get me a little more limbered up, and healed. Sheila aka: "The Yoga Nazi" liked the fact that I am going full bore with yoga, and brought my mat to use. She put the hurting on me last night, oh well. Till next time.
