Hold them to their Word!

Drugs make people do crazy things. Things out of their control, I believe. When I got to the E.R after my accident, Kelly Sparks, my Physician Assistant (and fellow bike racer) was attending to me, pre-pain drugs. I begged Kelly to get me the doctors that would get me racing again, whatever it took. He said he would.....

Fast forward about 96 hours later. La-la land for Stevie Boy, and the morphine pump could not have spit the stuff out into my veins fast enough. I "believe" I remember my doctors, Dr. Maxey and Dr. Phillips by my bedside, explaining that not only will I race again, but due to the marvelous creations of new drugs on the market, that I could be the next Lance Armstrong!

Fast Forward 22 months later, and Viola! The concept of Steve Driscoll-Armstrong submitted by our infamous fellow Macker, Tammy from Springpatch, IL.

Oh, I forgot. G told me that no matter how many times you press the pump, there is a limit as to how much actually comes out, so you don't get too stoned. I'll have to consult with the equipment manufacturer and have that corrected for next time!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Ooops, I Did it Again............

Yes, I did IT AGAIN! I pre-registered for the annual Proctor Road Race, the weekend before the 4th of July. Why you ask? Because I have something to prove! Prove to whom? Have no idea, but when I find that person, I'll let you know.

I have been relegated by my favorite nurse, Nurse Barb. I go off to see the "Man" himself, Dr. Maxey this am, and low & behold, I am treated by another lovely nurse named Cheryl (sp). Nurse barb threw me by the way-side, probably for some hot young thing, with a broken arm or something. No loyalty in the ortho-business these days. I thought I was the one, but I guess not.

I made sure that she knew that Cheryl was now my "new" favorite nurse. She begged and pleaded for me to take her back, and so I did. I'm kind-of a routine type guy, and I don't like to see women cry, so I caved in. She has been moved back up to my favorite nurse status.

X-rays are looking good! Pain in the ankle, calf etc? Well, we don't really know, except it is probably a combination of nerve growth, atrophy and some ailment not discovered as of yet. I'll make one up at a later time, and sell it to the medical community for a billion + dollars, and retire to Fiji. No, scratch Fiji, as they don't have bike races there.

Before I went to see Mad Max this am, our Jack Russell Terrier,Darby said, if she could, that she would trade places with me, and take my broken leg, and the pain associated with it etc. I thought about it for a minute, and drew a mental image in my mind of what that would look like:

After seeing this image, in my mind of little Darby with a striped cast on her leg, I decided against it.........

Been There, Done That

Yes, it's been a while since my last posting, but I have been busy. Really busy not doing much of any importance. Since I took over the Remodeling division of Menold Construction, Inc. last fall, I have had to get used to the HUGE learning curve of working with a different caliber of clients, in-house designers, production, blah. blah. blah.

I am not whining by any means, just learning. Off to see Dr. Maxey Friday am, so we shall see. Hopefully he has the new product just approved somewhere in Mexico, "Bone Growth in a Bottle" and he can slip me some. I need it!

See you soon!
